Aplicator’s IPD-8000 and IPD-15 are superbly engineered wall mounted metering units for polyester resins and catalysts. These units can also be used for many other types of resins. By using our IPD-machines you will have a much better working environment in your production. The special design of the pouring head slightly premixes the resin and catalyst and requires no solvent flushing. The IPD-8000 and IPD-15 resin stations are easy and safe to handle with simple controls for straightforward operation. Both are equipped with Aplicator’s unique continuously variable catalyst slave pump for exact resin to catalyst ratio.

OPERATION

Aplicator’s IPD-8000 and IPD-15 machines operate using an air driven dual-acting piston pump, both for the resin and the catalyst. Manufactured from stainless steel, the catalyst pump incorporates a pressure gauge and pressure relief valve and is synchronised with the resin pump shaft for precise delivery of catalyst. Consequently, it is independent of variations in air supply or material viscosity. Catalyst volumes are easily adjusted with a hand wheel, which changes the stroke length of the catalyst pump. The mixing ratios are continuously variable. Catalyst is pumped directly from the original container. Resin is usually pumped from a 200-litre drum, but can also be pumped from a 25-litre pail, a bulk container or a fixed storage tank. The components are slightly mixed before the material leaves the pouring head. This gives a cleaner and safer environment by minimising spillage with no handling of resin or catalyst in open vessels. The machine can, as an option, be equipped with a unique recirculation system for the catalyst and resin for degassing and function checks.

CLEANING

Cleaning the pouring head after a full day use is easily carried out by disconnecting the plastic tube and washing in solvent.
