MIPG-24/HV Classic is a Multicolour Gelcoater with quick and simple changing of gelcoat colour. Overall, this technology offers numerous, cost-effective benefits such as high quality gelcoat finishes, ease of handling, low maintenance, safety and reliability with minimal environmental impact. The Classic version has a static mixer on the machine, a pneumatically operated solvent pump for ease of cleaning and uses the same catalyst dosage technology that has made Aplicator synonymous with quality products over the last decades.

OPERATION

Aplicator’s MIPG-24/HV Classic machine uses air-driven dual-acting piston pumps for the gelcoats and the catalyst. For precise delivery of catalyst, regardless of variations in air supply or viscosity of material, the stainless-steel catalyst pump is synchronized with the gelcoat pump shaft. Catalyst volumes
are easily adjusted by means of a hand wheel that changes the stroke length of the pump and the mixing ratios are continuously variable. The catalyst is pumped straight from the original container. Gelcoat is usually pumped from a 25-litre pail but can also be pumped from a 200-litre drum, a bulk container or a fixed storage tank. Using a static mixer, both catalyst and gelcoat are thoroughly blended before the material is pumped through a single hose to the gelcoat gun. For degassing and functional checks, the machine is equipped with a unique recirculation system for both catalyst and gelcoat.

CHANGE OF COLOUR AND INTERNAL MIXING

Aplicator have used internal mixing of gelcoat and catalyst for several years. This process has proved to be the optimum method of obviating problems that can occur with incomplete mixing. With MIPG-24/HV Classic it’s quick and simple to change gelcoat colour without interrupting the production. Simply slide the air motor along the frame to a different gelcoat pump.

FLUSHING

Cleaning the spray gun after use is easily achieved using the built-in, pneumatically operated flushing pump. With no manual handling of potentially hazardous solvents, simply pressing the flush button on the pump automatically flushes the static mixer, hose and spray gun.
